Estate Inventory Checklist
- Properly evaluate assets of Person/Estate at the time of appointment, including:
- Cash on hand
- Real Property (real estate, land, buildings, machinery, boats, motor vehicles
including cars and motorcycles, equipment, furniture, jewelry, etc)
- Liquid Assets (stocks, bonds, insurance policies, accrued incomes, amounts
receivable, etc)
- Inquire about the ownership interest in the assets (deed, certificate of ownership, joint-bank accounts, etc) and any potential encumbrances, liens, or other charges against the items
- Inquire about outstanding debts/amounts owed
- Conduct an online search of the California Unclaimed Property website and various county websites
